Description

A sinuous dragon circles a raised pearl, its scaled body extending across a field of curling clouds. The monochrome glaze settles into the carved lines and around the central orb, bringing the relief into sharper definition as the light changes. The dragon-and-pearl pairing has appeared throughout Chinese decorative art for centuries. Made in Mentougou, Beijing, this Liuli ceramic plate is intended for upright presentation on its included display stand.
