Lotus Relief Liuli Ceramic Vase

Lotus leaves, an open flower and a sculpted seed pod rise across the flattened, petal-shaped body of this vase. In Chinese art, the lotus is admired for emerging unsoiled from muddy water, making it an emblem of purity and integrity; the word “荷” for lotus also recalls “和”, meaning peace. Its narrow opening accommodates a few stems, while the complete relief composition allows the vessel to stand on its own when empty. Handcrafted in Mentougou, Beijing, in Liuli glazed ceramic.

Empty and dry the vase between uses. Clean by hand with lukewarm water and, if necessary, a small amount of mild dish soap. Do not soak or place in a dishwasher. Wipe the exterior with a soft cloth and dry thoroughly.
